RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights gives you the skills and knowledge to work safely when there is a risk of falling. The day is hands on, and you will use the same equipment you will see on a Western Australian worksite.
The course suits anyone working at height in construction, civil, mining, maintenance, telecommunications or roofing, whether you are starting out or need the ticket for a site induction.

Weight rating: our equipment is rated to a maximum of 140kg including tools and PPE. If you are close to or above this, please contact us before booking. We can usually make arrangements.
You complete a written knowledge assessment and a practical demonstration. Both are finished on the day of training.
On successful completion you receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights, issued by Workforce Training Group, RTO 46093.
You also receive a wallet card at no additional cost, so you have something to carry with you for site inductions.
Our Malaga facility is at 7 Montgomery Way, Malaga WA 6090, a few minutes from Reid Highway and Tonkin Highway.
Limited free on site parking, with on street parking in the surrounding streets. Malaga streets get busy with heavy vehicles between 7am and 8am, so please allow a little extra time.
The closest stop is Victoria Road Before Irvine Drive, roughly a three minute walk, served by route 363 (Mirrabooka to Ballajura Station via Victoria Road and Beringarra Avenue). Route 363 runs weekday peak times only, with no weekend or public holiday service.
If you are travelling on a weekend, or outside peak, Alexander Drive (routes 360, 360X, 361 and 362) and Beach Road (routes 449 and 450) run all week and are about a 600 metre walk.
Take the Ellenbrook Line to Ballajura Station, then route 363 into Victoria Road on weekdays, or route 449 or 450 to Beach Road any day. Ballajura Station has a bus interchange at its southern entrance, and free parking if you would rather drive part of the way.
Check timetables at transperth.wa.gov.au using 7 Montgomery Way, Malaga as your destination. Please check your booking confirmation before travelling, as some courses are held at our Northbridge location.
This course is not catered, so please bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks. A fridge is available for storing food. Monday to Friday there is a lunch bar a few minutes walk away, and a mobile food van also visits the area.
Your Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E does not carry an expiry date. In practice, though, most Western Australian employers and site inductions require heights training to have been completed within the last two years, and some sites ask for annual refresher training.
Photo identification and your Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not have a USI yet, you can create one free at usi.gov.au and bring the number with you. Wear long trousers, a long sleeved shirt and enclosed steel capped footwear.
No. Harnesses, lanyards and all fall protection equipment are supplied for the day. You only need suitable clothing and enclosed steel capped footwear.
You need enough English to follow the training and complete the assessments safely. If you are unsure about your level, contact us before booking. We offer a free verbal language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment with one of our trainers so we can work out the best way to support you.
To take part in this course you must be able to speak and understand English well enough to participate in training and complete the assessments.
