How does the RSA Blended course work?

This course combines flexible online learning with a short face-to-face assessment. You’ll complete the theory component through an online module and knowledge questions at your own pace, then attend a brief in-person session to complete your assessment and finalise your certification.

Is this course nationally recognised?

Yes. You will complete the accredited unit SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol, which is recognised nationally and accepted in Western Australia. Some states have different RSA requirements, so please check with your local liquor authority if you intend to work outside WA.

What is a USI and why do I need one?

A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a government-issued reference number required for anyone undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia. It allows you to access your training records and transcripts online and ensures your accredited training is recorded in the national system.

If you’re completing any accredited course (such as RSA, White Card, or Traffic Management), you must provide a valid USI before your certificate can be issued.

You can create one for free at www.usi.gov.au. If you’re not sure how, we’re happy to help during the enrolment process.

How long does it take to complete?

  • Online theory: Usually takes approx. 4 hours, depending on your pace
  • Face-to-face assessment: Approximately 30 minutes

Do I need to complete the online module before my assessment?

Yes. You must complete the online learning module and knowledge questions before attending your face-to-face assessment. If it’s not complete, you may be required to reschedule.

What do I need to bring to the assessment?

You’ll need valid photo ID (e.g. passport, driver’s licence, or proof of age card). All other materials will be provided.

When will I receive my certificate?

Once you have successfully completed both the online module and face-to-face assessment, your Statement of Attainment for SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol will be issued, typically within a few days.

Can I enrol if I’m under 18?

Yes. While you must be 18 to legally serve alcohol, students under 18 may complete this training for future work. If you’re under 18, we’re happy to provide additional support—just let us know in advance.

What if I’m not confident with English?

You must be able to speak and understand English to complete the online content and in-person assessment. If you’re unsure, we recommend booking a short phone call with one of our trainers to assess your speaking ability.
