Nationally Recognised Training
Essential first aid training covering emergency response, injury and illness management, and basic life support including CPR. Includes both HLTAID011 and HLTAID009 (CPR) — two Statements of Attainment issued on completion.
To enrol in this course, you must meet the following requirements:
Full face-to-face training at Northbridge Training Centre. Covers CPR, emergency response, and first aid procedures. Students must be physically able to perform CPR on mannequins.
• Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 (First Aid)
• Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 (CPR)
• All training materials supplied
• Note: Students unable to perform physical tasks will receive Statement of Attendance only (not accredited)
This qualification may lead to the following career opportunities. Please note: completion of training does not guarantee employment.
Already have skills and experience? You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer to reduce your study time.
Learn about RPLIt runs as a full face-to-face day of around 6 hours at our Northbridge Training Centre. In that time you'll cover both the First Aid unit (HLTAID011) and the CPR unit (HLTAID009), so you finish with two nationally recognised Statements of Attainment.
You'll need to be physically able to perform CPR on a mannequin on the floor, as this is a required part of the assessment. If you're not able to complete the physical tasks, you're still welcome to attend — you'd receive a Statement of Attendance rather than the accredited Statement of Attainment. If you have any concerns, contact us before enrolling and we'll help.
There aren't any government subsidies for this course at the moment, so the fee shown is the full cost — with no hidden extras. We do offer payment plans, so just contact us if you'd like to spread the cost over instalments.
Yes — if you're on a student visa (subclass 500), you can enrol in our White Card (CPCWHS1001), First Aid (HLTAID011 / HLTAID009), and Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) courses. These are approved short courses that overseas students can complete alongside their main studies, without the training provider needing CRICOS registration. Before enrolling, please check that your visa conditions allow you to undertake an additional short course. You can confirm this with the Department of Home Affairs.
Yes. If you already have relevant skills and experience, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer, which can reduce your study time. Contact us and we'll talk through whether it's an option for you and what evidence you'd need to provide.
Just yourself and a valid photo ID. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, as you'll be getting down to the floor to practise CPR. All training materials are provided.
There's no set minimum age for our first aid course — it's suitable for anyone who needs first aid skills for work, study or home. Students under 18 will need consent from a parent or guardian to enrol.
Our courses do need a working level of English, since you'll need to understand instructions, answer questions, read signs and procedures and write brief notes and complete the assessment. To make sure the course is the right fit and that you'll be well supported, we offer a quick language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) check over the phone before you start. If the check shows you'd benefit from extra support, we'll go through the options with you so you can complete the course with confidence.
Yes. A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a free reference number that every student undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia must have. It's a lifetime record of your training, so all your qualifications and Statements of Attainment are stored in one place. You'll need one before we can issue your certificate — you can create your own for free at usi.gov.au.
Yes. On successful completion you'll receive two nationally recognised Statements of Attainment — one for HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) and one for HLTAID009 (Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) — recognised by employers and regulators right across Australia.
Once you've completed all the assessment requirements and we've verified your USI, we'll issue your two Statements of Attainment — usually within a few days. They're sent to you by email, so keep an eye on your inbox (including your junk folder).
Nationally, it's recommended that you refresh your first aid every 3 years, and your CPR every 12 months, to keep your skills and certification current. Many employers require this too, so it's worth checking what your workplace needs.
We collect and store your personal information only for the purposes of delivering your training, issuing your certificate, and meeting our legal obligations as a Registered Training Organisation. We're required to report certain information to government bodies — including your USI and training results — and we handle your information in line with our Privacy Policy. You can read the full policy on our website, and you're welcome to contact us with any questions about your information.
We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve them fairly. If you're unhappy with any part of your experience, or you'd like to appeal an assessment decision, you can let us know and we'll follow our Complaints and Appeals process. The full process — including how to submit and what to expect — is set out in our Complaints and Appeals Policy on our website. You won't be disadvantaged for raising a concern.
Your course fee covers up to 3 assessment attempts at no extra charge. If you haven't achieved a satisfactory result after 3 attempts, you're welcome to re-enrol in the course to try again — the standard course fee applies to the new enrolment.
