This qualification may lead to the following career opportunities. Please note: completion of training does not guarantee employment.
Already have skills and experience? You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer to reduce your study time.
Learn about RPLIt's a short, focused session of around 2 hours at our Northbridge Training Centre, covering cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques and emergency response for an unconscious, non-breathing person.
You'll need to be physically able to perform CPR on a mannequin on the floor, as this is a required part of the assessment. If you have any concerns about the physical tasks, contact us before enrolling and we'll talk it through with you.
There aren't any government subsidies for this course at the moment, so the fee shown is the full cost — with no hidden extras. We do offer payment plans, so just contact us if you'd like to spread the cost over instalments.
Yes — if you're on a student visa (subclass 500), you can enrol in our White Card (CPCWHS1001), First Aid (HLTAID011 / HLTAID009), and Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) courses. These are approved short courses that overseas students can complete alongside their main studies, without the training provider needing CRICOS registration. Before enrolling, please check that your visa conditions allow you to undertake an additional short course. You can confirm this with the Department of Home Affairs.
Yes. If you already have relevant skills and experience, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer, which can reduce your study time. Contact us and we'll talk through whether it's an option for you and what evidence you'd need to provide.
Just yourself and a valid photo ID. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, as you'll be getting down to the floor to practise CPR. All training materials are provided.
There's no set minimum age for our CPR course — it's suitable for anyone who needs CPR skills for work, study or home. Students under 18 will need consent from a parent or guardian to enrol.
Our courses do need a working level of English, since you'll need to understand instructions, answer questions and follow emergency procedures and complete the assessment. To make sure the course is the right fit and that you'll be well supported, we offer a quick language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) check over the phone before you start. If the check shows you'd benefit from extra support, we'll go through the options with you so you can complete the course with confidence.
Yes. A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a free reference number that every student undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia must have. It's a lifetime record of your training, so all your qualifications and Statements of Attainment are stored in one place. You'll need one before we can issue your certificate — you can create your own for free at usi.gov.au.
Yes. On successful completion you'll receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 (Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), recognised by employers and regulators right across Australia.
Once you've completed the assessment and we've verified your USI, we'll issue your Statement of Attainment — usually within a few days. It's sent to you by email, so keep an eye on your inbox (including your junk folder).
Nationally, it's recommended that you refresh your CPR every 12 months to keep your skills and certification current. Many workplaces require this, so it's worth checking what your employer needs.
We collect and store your personal information only for the purposes of delivering your training, issuing your certificate, and meeting our legal obligations as a Registered Training Organisation. We're required to report certain information to government bodies — including your USI and training results — and we handle your information in line with our Privacy Policy. You can read the full policy on our website, and you're welcome to contact us with any questions about your information.
We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve them fairly. If you're unhappy with any part of your experience, or you'd like to appeal an assessment decision, you can let us know and we'll follow our Complaints and Appeals process. The full process — including how to submit and what to expect — is set out in our Complaints and Appeals Policy on our website. You won't be disadvantaged for raising a concern.
Your course fee covers up to 3 assessment attempts at no extra charge. If you haven't achieved a satisfactory result after 3 attempts, you're welcome to re-enrol in the course to try again — the standard course fee applies to the new enrolment.
