This qualification may lead to the following career opportunities. Please note: completion of training does not guarantee employment.
Already have skills and experience? You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer to reduce your study time.
Learn about RPLIt's a 1.5-day face-to-face refresher for people renewing their existing Main Roads WA traffic management accreditation. Because you already hold the tickets, it's shorter than the full course.
You'll need existing traffic management accreditation that hasn't been expired for more than 3 months, a valid driver's licence, and a White (or Blue) Card. If your accreditation lapsed more than 3 months ago, contact us — you may need the full course instead. We'll always confirm your eligibility before you enrol.
Two separate outcomes: a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS303 (Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices) and RIIWHS206 (Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs); and a Main Roads WA Certificate of Accreditation, valid for 3 years, which is a separate outcome regulated by Main Roads WA.
CTF (Construction Training Fund) subsidies may apply for eligible WA construction workers and can reduce your course fee. Contact us before enrolling and we'll help you check your eligibility, or you can read more at ctf.wa.gov.au/funding. We also offer payment plans if you'd like to spread the cost.
Our courses are delivered on a non-CRICOS basis, which means they're intended as short courses rather than a main program of study. If you're on a student visa, you're welcome to enrol as long as your visa conditions allow you to undertake an additional short course. We'd recommend confirming this with the Department of Home Affairs before you enrol.
A valid photo ID, your driver's licence, your White (or Blue) Card, and evidence of your current accreditation. Bring steel-cap boots and weather-appropriate clothing for the practical component. We'll confirm the details when we check your eligibility.
As this course is for people who already hold traffic accreditation and a current driver's licence, it's aimed at those already in the workforce. If you have any questions about your situation, just contact us.
Our courses do need a working level of English, since you'll need to understand safety instructions and follow traffic management procedures and complete the assessment. To make sure the course is the right fit and that you'll be well supported, we offer a quick language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) check over the phone before you start. If the check shows you'd benefit from extra support, we'll go through the options with you so you can complete the course with confidence.
Yes. A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a free reference number that every student undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia must have. It's a lifetime record of your training, so all your qualifications and Statements of Attainment are stored in one place. You'll need one before we can issue your certificate — you can create your own for free at usi.gov.au.
Yes — the Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS303 and RIIWHS206 is nationally recognised. The Main Roads WA Certificate of Accreditation is a separate, Main Roads–regulated outcome that lets you keep working on WA roads.
Once you've completed the assessment requirements and we've verified your USI, we'll issue your Statement of Attainment (by email) and arrange your renewed Main Roads WA Certificate of Accreditation and wallet card. Keep an eye on your inbox, including your junk folder.
Your Main Roads WA accreditation is valid for 3 years. To avoid a gap, it's best to re-accredit before it expires — remember you can only use this shorter Re-accreditation course if your accreditation hasn't lapsed by more than 3 months.
We collect and store your personal information only for the purposes of delivering your training, issuing your certificate, and meeting our legal obligations as a Registered Training Organisation. We're required to report certain information to government bodies — including your USI and training results — and we handle your information in line with our Privacy Policy. You can read the full policy on our website, and you're welcome to contact us with any questions about your information.
We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve them fairly. If you're unhappy with any part of your experience, or you'd like to appeal an assessment decision, you can let us know and we'll follow our Complaints and Appeals process. The full process — including how to submit and what to expect — is set out in our Complaints and Appeals Policy on our website. You won't be disadvantaged for raising a concern.
Your course fee covers up to 3 assessment attempts at no extra charge. If you haven't achieved a satisfactory result after 3 attempts, you're welcome to re-enrol in the course to try again — the standard course fee applies to the new enrolment.
